A Case of Post-traumatic Cerebral Aneurysm

Abstract
A case of traumatic cerebral aneurysm with depressed skull fracture is reported. This patient was 43-year-old man, who had sustained trauma on his head by wooden bar on July 6, 1973.
On admission, neurological examination revealed no specific signs except for slight motor and sensory disturbances of the right upper extremity only.
Plain skull films showed small depressed fracture on the left parietal region. and left carotid angiograms revealed a pea-sized aneurysm arising from the posterior parietal branch of the middle cerebral artery.
The aneurysmal sac and depressed bone fragment were successfully removed. Post-operative course was uneventful, and he was discharged 2 weeks after operation.
Literatures are reviewed and incidence, mechanism, diagnosis and clinical course of traumatic aneurysm are discussed.
